Media and external communications team
Our Media and External Communications team plays a vital role conveying Griffith's strengths to a wide audience. The team holds primary responsibility for media relations and works with Griffith academics, experts and schools to provide media planning and advice, and source, curate and create newsworthy content that helps tell the Griffith story.
Responsibilities
The team deals with media outlets and representatives every day, pitching news stories and distributing media releases, responding to requests for expert comment and academic expertise, and managing relevant breaking news.
The team also maintains the Griffith News and Analysis website, which showcases the latest news across the university. All Griffith media releases and approaches to media outlets must be authorised by the Media and External Communications team.
Griffith University proudly supports the Queensland Media Club, championing informed industry dialogue as its naming rights sponsor for over 10 years. Our partnership aligns with Griffith’s commitment to equipping graduates with innovative skills for successful careers in media and communications .
Contact us
Media outlets, journalists and Griffith staff can contact the team via email or phone.
The media team can advise on appropriate parking and security arrangements for media visits to campus. They can also support staff with media training.
